The Children’s Ministries at Asbury United Methodist Church in Denton, Texas
provides many opportunities for children to learn about the word of God and have fun!
Asbury’s Children’s Programs:
YEAR ROUND ACTIVITIES
- Children’s Church– Sunday mornings during the 10:30AM service. Children ages 4 years old to 5th grade leave during the sermon for an age-appropriate Bible lesson.
- Sunday School– Sunday mornings at 9:30AM for children ages 4 years old to 5th grade.
SCHOOL YEAR ACTIVITIES
- Asbury Reaching Kids (A.R.K.)– Sunday nights during the school year from 5:00PM to 7:00PM for ages 4 years old to 5th grade. This includes Bible story, music, memory verses, and games.
- Tone Chime Choir– Offered for 2nd grade through 5th grade during A.R.K. on Sunday nights. No musical experience needed.
- Mother’s Day Out– Tuesdays and Thursdays during the school year from 9:00AM to 2:00PM for 12 months to four years old (age as of September 1st for the current school year). Registration and monthly tuition are required.
- COMPASS Home School Enrichment– Tuesdays and Thursdays during the school year from 9:00AM to 2:00PM for kindergarten through 8th grade. Registration and monthly tuition are required.
SPECIAL ACTIVITIES
- Children’s Musicals– The children of Asbury present a Christmas musical every December to celebrate Christ’s birth and a spring musical each May to finish out the school year. Participation includes extra practices on several Saturdays prior to the performance.
- Funtivity– fun activities for children all ages (i.e. Fall Festival, Easter Egg Hunt, Back-to-School Swim, Game Nights, etc.)
- Vacation Bible School (VBS)– one week each summer for age 4 years old (fully potty-trained) to entering 6th grade
- Summer Camp– five day and four night camp during the summer for children completing grades 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th
