We are now at the fourth of our seven-part Easter sermon series titled “Closer and Closer.” Here’s what we’ve learned so far:
- John tells us Mary Magdalene is the first to see Jesus alive and she shares the good news with Peter and John. Sharing the good news has continued and it is now our turn to share it.
- John also tells us Thomas doubts Jesus is alive. Doubt is a part of the spiritual journey for many of us, and it can be beneficial if it drives us to get closer to Jesus.
- Luke tells us about Jesus walking with two disciples and opening the scriptures to them. Jesus does this for us as we turn our focus toward him through the power of the Holy Spirit within us.
