ALL 5th-8th students are responsible for completing ALL assignments (both in class AND at home).
ALL supplies and books are REQUIRED unless marked “optional”.
ALL 5th-8th students MUST bring notebook paper, pencil, pen, and planner EVERYDAY.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS (Alphabetical by class name)
ART– This class will guide students in the development of their artistic talents. This is done by first teaching students how to acquire the visual perception of an artist. The individual style of each student grows as they explore a variety of medias, artistic styles, and techniques. Students will gain the confidence needed to express individual creativity. Class offered to 5th-8th graders.

COOKING– This class will learn the basics of cooking. Different recipes each year! Class offered to 5th-8th graders.

DIGITAL & WRITTEN STORYTELLING– This class explores the art of storytelling through the lens of photography, videography, and journaling. Students will learn foundational principles such as understanding exposure, mastering lighting, effective composition, as well as hands-on experience with basic video editing techniques. Class offered to 5th-8th graders.

- Camera or Smart Phone (for assignments inside and outside of class)
- Flash Drive
- access to an email account (can be a parent email)

D.I.Y. (Do It Yourself)– This immersive class offers a hands-on learning journey through diverse art forms, including projects that incorporate clay, painting, embroidery, and beyond. Active participation is key as you design and complete numerous projects to take home throughout the year. All materials are provided-just bring your imagination and creativity. Class offered to 5th-8th graders.

MUSIC– In this class, students will explore musical concepts in a group setting. Music students will have the opportunity to perform during the school year. Class offered to 5th-8th graders.

P.E. (Physical Education)– This class will focus on physical fitness while doing gross motor activities and group games. Class offered to 5th-8th graders.

- solid athletic shoes
- reusable water bottle (with name on it)
- dress appropriately for the weather

SCIENCE– 5th & 6th Grade– This class will integrate STEAM concepts into every lesson. STEAM concepts include Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. This class will include fun and exciting experiments and science projects each week. ALL 5th & 6th graders will take Science each day.

SCIENCE– 7th & 8th Grade– In this class, students will incorporate STEAM concepts into every lesson. STEAM concepts include Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. This class will include engaging experiments and science projects each week. ALL 7th & 8th graders will take Science each day.

STORY OF THE WORLD VOLUME 1– 5th & 6th Grade– This class will study Ancient Times: From the Earliest Nomads to the Last Roman Emperor. ALL 5th & 6th graders will take Story of the World History each day.

Books Needed: Story of the World Volume 1 TEXTBOOK (Siblings can share. Purchase only one textbook per family.)
U.S. HISTORY– 7th & 8th Grade– This class will have a basic overview of U.S. History. ALL 7th & 8th graders take U.S. History each day.

WRITING– 5th & 6th Grade– In this class, the students use a theme-based writing curriculum that will expose students to the ancient world through cultural literature and the study of famous places and events while they learn to write with Structure and Style. ALL 5th & 6th graders take Writing each day.

WRITING- 7th & 8th Grade– In this class, the students use a theme-based writing curriculum that will allow students to delve into the excitement of explorers, battles, land expansion, famous ships, and founding fathers while learning to write with Structure and Style. ALL 7th & 8th graders take Writing each day.
