The Children’s Ministry

The Children’s Ministries Department at Asbury United Methodist Church in Denton, Texas
provides many opportunities for children to learn about the word of God and have fun!

Asbury’s Children’s Programs:

 

YEAR ROUND ACTIVITIES

 

  • Sunday School- Sunday mornings at 10:00 A.M. for three year old through sixth grade
  • Children’s Church- Sunday mornings during the 9:00 A.M. and 11:00 A.M. services for three year olds through first grade
  • Power Hour- Sunday mornings during the 9:00 A.M. service for second grade through sixth grade

 

SCHOOL YEAR ACTIVITIES

  • Asbury Reaching Kids (A.R.K.)- Wednesday nights during the school year from 6:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. for four year olds through fourth grade.  This includes Bible story, music, memory verses, puppets, and games.
  • Bible Study- Wednesday nights during the school year for fifth and sixth grades
  • Tone Chime Choir- Sunday nights during the school year from 5:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. for second grade through sixth grade.  No musical experience needed.
  • Mother’s Day Out- Tuesdays and Thursdays during the school year from 9:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. for 12 months to four years old (age as of September 1st for the current school year).  Registration and monthly tuition are required.
  • COMPASS Home School Enrichment- Tuesdays and Thursdays during the school year from 9:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. for kindergarten through eighth grade.  Registration and monthly tuition are required.

 

SPECIAL ACTIVITIES

  • Children’s Musicals- The children of Asbury present a Christmas musical every December to celebrate Christ’s birth and a spring musical each May to finish out the school year.   Participation includes extra practices on several Saturdays prior to the performance.
  • Funtivity- monthly fun activity for children all ages (i.e. bowling, game day, swimming, Fall Festival, Easter Egg Hunt, etc.)
  • Vacation Bible School(VBS)-one week each summer for three year olds through entering sixth grade(Dates for 2012: June 18-22)
  • IMPACT Summer Camp- four day and three night camp during the summer for children entering third, fourth, fifth, and sixth grades (Dates for 2012: June 25-28)
